Chocolate Orange Flapjacks – Rather Tasty

Chocolate Orange Flapjacks

225g butter

225g caster sugar

170g golden syrup

450g oats

Finely grated zest of 1 orange

Juice of half an orange

120g chocolate chips

Great and line tin (size approx. 30 x 20cm)

Oven at 180C/350F/Gas Mark 4

Put the butter, sugar, syrup, orange juice and zest in a large saucepan – one that’s big enough to put the oats in too).

Put the saucepan on a low heat, stiring from time to time until the butter has melted.

Take the pan off the heat and stir in the oats until they are all coated. Allow the pan to cool a bit before stiring in the chocolate chips or they will melt too fast.

Pour the delicious smelling mixture into the greased and lined tray then bake for 15-20 minutes – until just brown on the edges. If you over cook they will be too chewy (but if you like ‘em very chewy then cook away!).
